Social Media in Education

Social media is very important today. School across the world are built around technology and social media. Below are some examples of resources that I have found and how I use them. 1. https://www.facebook.com/physedteachingresources/ The Health and Physical Education Teaching Resources page on Facebook is a great place to find educational resources for physical educators. This page offers resources that are shared by other physical educators around the world. A post on this page that I found interesting was about an educational website link called Cube for Teachers. This website link is a great way for me to use in my future classroom by finding teaching resources that can help me teach remote learning or just learning in general to my future students. https://www.facebook.com/physedteachingresources/posts/3107025659360417 2. https://www.facebook.com/ThePEspecialist/ The PE Specialist is a great page on Facebook for physical educators like me to go and find helpful information...

Module 7- Assistive Technologies and Digital Equity

Hello everyone,   Welcome to my third blog post.   For this post, I will be discussing Digital Equity.   Digital equity means ensuring students have equal access to technology, as well as the training necessary to navigate and use digital tools.   This module has helped me understand how digital equity will impact my teaching in physical education in the following ways.   In todays educational society, students need the ability to be better 21st educational learners.   Teachers and students have become more reliant on computers and the internet to complete assignments.   Students have various levels of access to technology.   Some students have a lot of access to home internet and then there are some students that have homes without access to the internet.   These students that do not have home internet rely on access to schools, libraries, or local businesses to do their school assignments.   These students that do not have all the acce...

Module 6- Student Assessment

Hello everyone,       Welcome to my third blog post.  For this post, I will be discussing how module six has helped me think about student-centered assessment and how I will apply it to my future classroom.  First off, your standard student assessment is the process of evaluating your students' abilities and achievements.  Teachers use student assessment everyday in every classroom.  Some examples include: tests, quizzes, exit-slip questions, discussions, games, and much more.  What is important to know from these student assessments, is how you can take these assessments and use them to help get to know your students a lot better.  This is by using what is called "Student-Centered Assessments."       Student-centered assessments involve the active engagement of your students in setting goals for their learning and growth.  Teachers then monitor these goals and help address them along the way.  It is i...

Module 2- Curricular Frameworks

Hello everyone,      Welcome to my second blog post.  For this post, I will be discussing Curricular Frameworks.  Curricular Frameworks are an organized plan or set of standards that defines the content that is to be learned.  They are clearly defined for what students should be able to know and do.  Each grade level has their on set of content standards.  Having separate grade level content standards, allows students to work at individually ability levels.  By identifying prerequisites and skills for each standard, teachers can plan instruction and make lesson plans accordingly.  In module 2, we discussed a great way educators can guide the level of Curriculum Frameworks and that is by using what is called "Bloom's Digital Taxonomy."  This module has helped me connect Bloom's Taxonomy to 21st Century-Skills in the following ways.      The Bloom's Digital Taxonomy was created in the 1950s by Educational Psycholo...
