Social Media in Education
Social media is very important today. School across the world are built around technology and social media. Below are some examples of resources that I have found and how I use them.
1. https://www.facebook.com/physedteachingresources/
The Health and Physical Education Teaching Resources page on Facebook is a great place to find educational resources for physical educators. This page offers resources that are shared by other physical educators around the world. A post on this page that I found interesting was about an educational website link called Cube for Teachers. This website link is a great way for me to use in my future classroom by finding teaching resources that can help me teach remote learning or just learning in general to my future students. https://www.facebook.com/physedteachingresources/posts/3107025659360417
2. https://www.facebook.com/ThePEspecialist/
The PE Specialist is a great page on Facebook for physical educators like me to go and find helpful information that I can learn to use and imply on my future class. This page offers tons of useful information such as: videos, links to websites, pictures, and much more. One example that I found very interesting on this page was a link to a page called "How to Use iMovie Trailers in Physical Education." https://www.facebook.com/ThePEspecialist/photos/a.801461029925962/5233404436731577/
iMoive is a great app that can be used to make short videos or trailers during a class. It is a great tool to make a classroom interactive! I can use this app one day to make highlight videos to share with other teachers, administration, and parents. I can use this app to make weekly summary videos of my class, to make educational videos for my online students, and just as a way to present my physical education program in a fun and engaging way.
3. https://www.facebook.com/PECentral/
PE Central is a very popular website that is used all over the country by physical education teachers. This page and website offers a ton of lessons and ideas that I can use in my future physical education classroom. The best part about it is that it's FREE! One link to a post on this website is https://www.facebook.com/PECentral/posts/3248230968632906. This link will take you to a post called "Virtual Learning - How to Guide for PE teachers" by Charles Silberman. Due to COVID-19 causing the Pandemic across the United States, students have gone virtual and online learning has become a popular thing. This post by Silberman discusses ways on how to teach virtual PE and how to avoid and correct the difficult encounters you may have along the way. It gives specific details on how to approach and teach online learning in the following ways:
